The International Riding Academy offers programs specially designed to help junior hunter, jumper and equitation riders develop the skills, poise, and athleticism needed to further their riding careers while supporting their academic, social, and emotional growth during the important years from childhoo d leading up to college.
The iRiding Academy is set in an elite setting with a maximum of 12 riders accepted into the program. Riders are able to train, interact, and learn with national level instructors and riders, build a strong work ethic and sense of team spirit as well as enjoy individual accomplishments.
Our coaches have a history of success training riders to compete and win at the highest level, including Maclay finals, USEF Pony finals, USET medal finals, PCHA medal finals, and IHSA Nationals. Partnering with the well-known Hilton Head Preparatory School where 100% of students are accepted to a college education, as well as developing and mentoring our students both in and out of the arena, are major components of our successful program.
Horseback riding is a popular pastime in the Lowcountry, with a rich tradition of horseshowing and equestrian events over the decades. Whether our riders look to compete at the local and regional shows, or on the AA circuit, our staff has a proven background of success. We help riders improve their equitation, refine their hunter riding technique, or work on their individual goals in the jumper divisions. Suited for both experienced equestrians looking to polish their skills for the fall, spring, or summer show seasons, and riders with less competition experience but with an unending love for horses and a drive to learn and show, our program is tailored to fit each student's unique goals.
In addition to private lessons and group sessions, students also spend time in our club room learning more about hunt seat equitation and judging, as well as various elements of course design. Lessons are videotaped, and students will have the opportunity to review their lessons with our trainers present. We find this to be an invaluable tool for helping our students visually identify areas of their riding that need refinement.
